Yoga in Paradise at the Four Seasons Resort Maui

by Four Seasons Maui on Monday, January 09, 2012

  • The holidays are over and the New Year has been ushered in, and now is the time to make a commitment to doing something just for oneself and one's significant family members and friends.

Four Seasons Maui at Wailea has come up with a truly unforgettable event, as part of the Resort’s 2012 series of Unforgettable Events, to remind everyone that it is alright to put yourself first once in awhile. The Resort is offering The Body, Mind, Spirit Equation: a Yoga Retreat, February 27-March 3, 2012, which will be led by sought-after Kathryn Budig, a Los Angeles-based instructor whose clientele includes many celebrities. In daily sessions during the retreat she will teach Vinyasa Flow — a combination of syncing movement and breath. "It is an aesthetically beautiful practice," says Budig, who adds that it is almost like "a moving prayer."

This retreat is perfect for students at all levels of practice. Emphasis is on cultivating physical, mental and spiritual health. A young and widely recognised face in the yoga world, Budig offers a playful mixture of challenging classes. Her infectious love for yoga and her joyful personality become the stage for a truly inspiring retreat played out on the Resort's stunning Wailea Beach and in other special natural settings.

"This is the perfect setting in which to practice yoga — ideal weather, a calming ocean, organic food, impeccable service and all the luxurious amenities of Four Seasons Maui," says Budig. She adds it is guaranteed that participants will become more in tune with their inner selves — discovering in the process they are utilising some amazing qualities they might not realise they have. Budig says that often participants will make friendships that continue long after the yoga mats are rolled up. "It will be a truly unforgettable event," Budig says.

The retreat will include five nights in a luxurious garden-view room; full breakfast daily in the Resort's DUO restaurant; four sunrise and three sunset yoga sessions with Budig including two off-site excursions to inspirational settings; a welcome reception, a traditional outrigger canoe closing ceremony; and Talk Story sessions with Budig in the Yoga Suite. Pricing for this package begins at USD 3,800.00 for a single participant. To reserve this package, contact pat.makozak@fourseasons.com or call 808 874 2939.
