Emerald Hotel Expansion
by Emerald Hotel - Gisborne on Monday, July 23, 2007
Gisborne’s only
four-star Qualmark rated hotel has just got bigger.
Seven more rooms have opened at the hotel bringing the room tally to 41 and by the end of the year Emerald Hotel will be fully completed and offer 48 guest rooms, plus 6 luxury apartments.
“By the end of 2007 the hotel will be
finished and in full operation ready for summer and the peak
tourist time,” says Daniel Hunt, Emerald Hotel board
member. “We are all very excited about the hotel moving
forward and we are looking forward to a completed
product.”
Local construction company QED Construction
has been appointed to finish the hotel and Hunt says he is
pleased that local workers are being employed. Work on the
hotel is being done discretely, ensuring hotel guests are
not disturbed.
“Emerald Hotel is proud of its region and tries to employ local staff and contractors wherever possible. It adds to the authenticity of our Gisborne product, which we strive to offer our customers during their visit to the region,” Hunt adds.
Emerald Hotel is located in the city centre overlooking the river, marina and sea and distinguishes itself as a unique New Zealand owned and operated hotel.
The hotel offers high tech conference facilities. There are three conference rooms - which can be opened up to one large room – and can cater for up to 350 people. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, gymnasium, outdoor heated swimming pool and spa.
